Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

The Williamsport Crosscutters scored in four of the first five innings on Friday night and were backed by excellent pitching in a 4-1 victory over the Vermont Lake Monsters.

The Cutters took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a one-out RBI single to right by Kelly Dugan. They added another run in the second when Luis Unda singled and later scored on a groundout by Taylor Black.

Vermont notched their first run in the top of the third, as Chi Fang Pan's RBI single made it a 2-1 ballgame. The Cutters immediately answered in the bottom of the inning, as Maikel Franco's RBI single to left made it 3-1.

Williamsport increased its lead once again in the fifth inning, as Aaron Altherr singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly to right by Dugan to make it 4-1.

That score would be the final, as Adam Morgan pitched six strong innings and Bryan Morgado fired three scoreless frames for the save. With the win, the Cutters improved to three games over .500 for the first time this season.

Williamsport opens a three-game home series versus Hudson Valley on Saturday at 7:05pm. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com
