Colorado Eagles News Release
WINDSOR, CO- The defending President's Cup Champion Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League announced today their exhibition games and home opener to begin the 2005-06 season. The exhibition games are on Friday and Saturday, October 14th and 15th starting at 7:05 p.m. The following Friday, October 21st, the Eagles will host the season opener beginning at 7:05 p.m. All three games will be played at the Budweiser Events Center where the Eagles have sold out 71 consecutive games including playoffs.
The defending Southern Conference Champion Laredo Bucks are slated to be the Eagles' first opponent in their pursuit to keep the cup in Northern Colorado. The home opener will be played on Friday, October 21st at 7:05 p.m. at the Budweiser Events Center. The game features the CHL's last two President's Cup Championship teams, and should be a great start to the 2005-06 season. The only time the Bucks have previously played at the BEC was the first two games of the 2005 President's Cup Finals in which Colorado defeated Laredo in both games. The Eagles eventually beat the defending champs four games to one winning the title in just their second season of play.
Prior to opening weekend, Colorado will play host to the Amarillo Gorillas for two exhibition games on October 14th and 15th during the 2005 training camp. The exhibition games will feature players vying for roster spots on their respective teams. The Eagles plan to have approximately 30 players in their training camp that will begin in early October. Tickets for the exhibition games for individual seats will be $11 and for club seats, $16. An on-sale date has not been announced, please visit the Eagles website at www.coloradoeagles.com for more information regarding tickets.
The Eagles remaining 2005-06 schedule is expected to be released in the near future. Please visit the Eagles website for further information regarding the on-sale date for all regular season games. The two-time Northwest Division and defending CHL Champion Colorado Eagles are preparing for their third season of play with returning veterans Greg Pankewicz, Riley Nelson, Ryan Tobler and Brad Williamson leading the way.
