
Drake's Dominance Earns Pitcher of the Week Honors

Frederick, MD - Frederick Keys right-handed starter Oliver Drake has been named Pitcher of the Week by the Carolina League. The Gardner, MA native had his best week as a professional, dominating in consecutive starts amassing 17 and 1/3rd innings of scoreless baseball while allowing only six hits.
A winner of both weekly outings, Drake is 7-3 with a 2.24 ERA in 13 appearances, 12 of which starts. Drake is currently third in the league in earned run average and has worked into the eighth inning in five consecutive starts.
Drake was selected by the Orioles out of the Naval Academy in the 43rd round of the 2008 draft. He was just the fourth player in Navy history to be drafted. An Arizona Fall League pitcher last season, Drake is in his second Carolina league season. Last year he started Game One of the Northern Division Championship Series for Frederick. Drake has had brief stints in Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk this season.
