Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lansing Lugnuts (affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) in the last game of a four-game series.
Season Series: Lansing 11, Dayton 3. At Dayton: Dayton 3, Lansing 3. Current Series: Lansing 2, Dayton 1.
Playoff Chase: The Dragons must finish in the top two among eligible teams in the East Division in the Second Half (six teams competing; Bowling Green and Lansing ineligible). 2018 Team Notes
The Dragons are batting .337 in the first three games of the current four-game series with Lansing. The Dragons have not hit .300 or higher in any series since May 18-20 vs. Great Lakes, when they hit .320.
The Dragons 3.61 ERA in the month of July is considerably better than the MWL average for the full season (3.82), but in an indication that July has been a good month for pitchers throughout the league, the Dragons July ERA ranks 11th among the 16 MWL teams.
The Dragons have allowed three runs or less in 19 of their 37 second half games. Their second half ERA is 3.82 (5.31 in the first half).
The Dragons have committed just 35 errors in their last 48 games (four errors on Saturday night).
The Dragons team ERA in their 49 wins is 2.71 (442 IP, 133 ER). In the 56 losses, it is 6.65 (476.1 IP, 352 ER).
2018 Individual Notes
Hunter Greene over his last 11 starts: 51.1 IP, 36 H, 16 R, 15 ER, 13 BB, 63 SO, 2.63 ERA. Greene has made 18 starts. His ERA in his first seven starts was 10.06. Greene was selected as the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Month for June.

Alejo Lopez over his last 14 games: 17 for 46, .370.
Transactions: Infielder Jeter Downs has been placed on the disabled list. Infielder Jonathan India has been promoted to Dayton from Billings. The addition of India gives the Dragons the Reds last two #1 draft picks (along with Hunter Greene, the 2017 first rounder). India was the 2018 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year at Florida, batting .350 with 21 home runs and 52 RBI in 68 games. He is the 17th Reds first round pick to play for the Dragons.
General Player/Team Notes
Four current members of the Dragons are rated among the Reds top 30 prospects (MLB Pipeline). They are RHP Hunter Greene (#2); INF Jonathan India (#4); INF Jeter Downs (#7); and INF Jose Garcia (#14).
RHP Hunter Greene and INF Jonathan India are two of 17 first round draft picks to play for the Dragons. Greene was the second overall pick in the 2017 draft out of Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. India was the fifth overall pick in the 2018 draft out of the University of Florida.
