Dragons Joel Bender Sent to Extended Spring Training

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster change today:

Right-handed pitcher Joel Bender has been sent from Dayton to the Cincinnati Reds extended spring training camp in Goodyear, Arizona.

The Dragons roster currently stands at 24 players, one below the Midwest League limit.

Bender appeared in eight games out of the Dayton bullpen this season, going 0-1 with a 6.16 earned run average in 19 innings. Bender is a product of Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati.

The Dragons will try for a sweep of a three-game series when they host the Lansing Lugnuts at Fifth Third Field tonight at 7:05 p.m. The game will be televised on WHIO Digital Channel 7.2 and Time Warner Cable channels 23 and 372. All Dragons games can be heard on WONE Radio 980 AM and on the internet at daytondragons.com and wone.com.
