Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Great Lakes Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the first game of a three-game series.
Votto : Reds All-Star and 2010 National League Most Valuable Player Joey Votto played for the Dragons last night and is scheduled to play for them again tonight on a major league injury rehabilitation assignment. Votto is currently on the Reds disabled list and has not appeared in a major league game since July 15 due to a left knee injury. He is batting .342 with 14 HR and 49 RBI. Votto played for the Dragons in 2003-'04 and did a two-game rehab assignment here in 2009.
Individual Notes
- Sean Buckley has hit safely in 10 straight games, going 15 for 39, .385 with three home runs, six doubles, and 11 RBI. He was selected as Midwest League Batter of the Week for the week of August 20-26.
- Juan Silva is batting .386 (17 for 44) over his last 12 games with two home runs and seven doubles.
- Yorman Rodriguez has hit safely in seven straight games, batting .393 (11 for 28) with two home runs and eight RBI.
