Erie SeaWolves News Release
(Erie, PA) - Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Dontrelle Willis is scheduled to continue his rehab THIS SUNDAY at Jerry Uht Park as the SeaWolves take on the Harrisburg Senators...1:05 First Pitch.
Willis, who was acquired from the Florida Marlins along with Miguel Cabrera on December 5, 2007, was placed on the 15-day disabled list to start the 2009 season. He was tabbed the 2003 National League Rookie of the Year as he helped lead the Marlins to their second World Championship. He has spent a majority of last season battling injuries, making just eight appearances for the Tigers.
"We are thrilled to have Dontrelle in an Erie uniform on his rehab assignment. Any time you can get someone of his caliber and electric personality to pitch in your ballpark, it makes for an enjoyable afternoon for our fans," SeaWolves Team President/General Manager John Frey said.
Willis is the first Tiger to rehab with the 'Wolves since Nate Robertson, Zach Miner and Roman Colon each spent time in 2007.
There are limited tickets available for Sunday afternoon's game. For groups of 10 or more, contact the Erie SeaWolves group department at (814) 456-1300.
