Dominguez HR Provides Second Straight Walkoff

Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Augusta, GA - Chris Dominguez's three-run home run to dead center - the deepest part of the ballpark - gave the Augusta GreenJackets their second walkoff win in as many games by a 5-2 score in 11 innings.
Dominguez's blast cleared the 16-foot tall fence just to the left of the "400" mark in dead center field to give the Jackets the winner. The inning began on Daniel Cook's double and continued with one out as Luke Anders was intentionally walked to set up the double play. Dominguez smashed the 1-0 pitch from Ben Watkins (1-1) to send the fans home happy for the second day in a row.
Cook had three hits for the Jackets, including an RBI double in the first to put Augusta up by a run. The RiverDogs tied the game in the fourth on DeAngelo Mack's double and took the lead on Taylor Grote's sacrifice fly later that inning. Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, the GreenJackets tied the game when Cook scampered home on a wild pitch and things stayed tied until extras.
The game was not short on offense as the teams combined for 22 hits. The GreenJackets got three-hit games from Cook and Juan Martinez and two hits apiece from Jose Medina, Tommy Joseph and Ryan Lollis. However, the GreenJackets left 15 men on base and stranded the bases full twice.
Chris Gloor (2-0) was the winning pitcher for the second straight day with his inning of one-hit relief. He was the fifth GreenJackets pitcher to follow starter Jeremy Toole, who allowed two runs and three walks in 4.1 innings. The bullpen men came through again for Augusta, providing 6.2 scoreless innings of relief, allowing five hits and striking out seven.
Augusta has now taken three of four games in all three of their 2010 series. They'll welcome the Savannah Sand Gnats into town for a four-game set beginning on Tuesday. Chris Heston (1-0, 0.00) will make his third start of the year for the GreenJackets and will face Mark Cohoon (2-0, 0.77). First pitch will come at 7:05 p.m. with the pregame action beginning at 1:50 p.m. on WRDW-AM 1630, www.greenjacketsbaseball.com and www.wrdwam.com.
Single-game and Season Tickets are currently available by calling the GreenJackets front office at 706-922-WINS while further information can be found online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
