LINCOLN -- The Saltdogs (23-18) took both ends of a double header against the El Paso Diablos (10-32) in front of 3,490 fans at Haymarket Park Thursday night.
Behind a big effort from Daniel Carroll and some lights-out relief, the 'Dogs downed El Paso 7-4 in the first game of the twin bill. Carroll went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a stolen base.
Stayton Thomas (win, 1-0), P.J. Zocchi (hold), and R.J. Rodriguez (save, 15) combined for three perfect innings to close out the game.

R.J. Rodriguez tossed a perfect seventh in the second game to earn his 16th save of the season. The Saltdogs bullpen spun five perfect innings combined in the double header.
