
'Dogs Post Double-Digit Ball in Seventh to Rout X's

LINCOLN -- The Saltdogs (26-41) scored 10 runs in the seventh to blowout Sioux City Explorers (30-39) 11-4 in front of 2,959 fans at Haymarket Park Sunday evening.
In the decisive frame, Lincoln batted around before an out was recorded. The 'Dogs scored the 10 runs on six hits with an error.
Mike Provencher hit a two-run home run. David Espinosa had two singles and Matt Forgatch stroked two doubles in the bottom of the seventh.
Justin Edwards (4-5) pitched seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out six and walking zero to earn the win. Alain Quijano (2-6) went six-plus, allowing five earned on six hits while striking out five and walking two to take the loss.
The win gave the 'Dogs their third series victory of the season, and was the first win by more than three runs since June 1.
Espinosa finished 3-for-4 with a run. Forgatch was 2-for-4 with a run and RBI.
The Saltdogs are off Monday and are back at it Tuesday night at Haymarket for a double header with Laredo beginning at 6:05 p.m. Radio coverage begins at 6 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
