KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- The first-place Saltdogs (40-33) fell behind 8-0 before furiously rallying in the ninth, but ultimately coming up just shy 8-7 to the Kansas City T-Bones (31-42) at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Monday night.

Lincoln plated five ninth-inning runs with two outs, capitalizing on consecutive throwing errors by T-Bones third baseman Jimmy Mojica.

The Saltdogs put the tying run in scoring position and the go-ahead run at first before a game-ending foul out.

Brandon Jacobs homered, doubled and drove in two. Curt Smith had three hits as part of a 14-hit performance for Lincoln.

The T-Bones plated six runs in the fourth to build their 8-0 lead.

Matt Shepherd, Kuo Hua Lo and Freddy Flores combined for four innings of scoreless relief for the 'Dogs.

Lincoln and Kansas City have now split the first 10 games of the series and the first 100 games of the all-times series.

The 'Dogs have dropped seven of nine but still lead the Central by 3 1/2 games.

The series continues Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Graham Johnson is expected to face LHP Mike Kickham. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR FM 103.3/1240 AM.
