St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN - It was a short week for the St. Paul Saints in terms of the amount of games played. With the three-day All-Star break plus a rare Sunday off day, the Saints played just three games, but in that one series Trever Adams put up eye-popping numbers good enough to earn him the Pointstreak American Association Player of the Week.
For the week Adams was 5-10 with a triple, two home runs and five RBI with five runs scored. For the second time this season Adams clubbed two home runs in a game doing so on Friday night.
He got his week started by going 2-4 on Thursday night in a 7-6 Saints victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. With the Saints down 3-2 in the third Adams singled home Brady Burzynski to tie the game at three. In the fifth, with the game tied at four, Adams gave the Saints the lead for good with a two-run triple.
On Friday night Adams cut a 2-0 deficit in half with a solo homer to right. In the ninth he tried to help the Saints mount a comeback with a towering solo homer to left. He went 3-4 with two home runs, two RBI and two runs scored.
Despite not collecting a hit on Saturday, going 0-2, he did walk twice and scored two runs, including drawing a one out walk in the eighth with the Saints trailing by a run. He would eventually score the tying run as the Saints won 5-3.
On the season Adams is hitting .283 with six home runs and 15 RBI in 16 games since joining the Saints on July 17. In 60 at bats he has scored 14 runs, has two doubles, two triples, a .362 on base percentage and a .683 slugging percentage for an impressive 1.046 OPS.
Prior to joining the Saints the 27-year old Adams was playing for Triple-A Round Rock this season where he was hitting .184 with two home runs and 12 RBI. He started off the season with eight RBI in his first two games, including a five RBI performance on June 11 at Iowa. Last season Adams began the season at Round Rock and hit .216 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 25 games. He finished the season at Double-A Frisco and hit .230 with seven home runs and 32 RBI in 94 games.

The recognition followed over the next two seasons.
In 2013 he spent the entire season at High-A Myrtle Beach and hit .257 with 11 home runs and a career high 82 RBI in a career high 135 games. In 506 at bats he scored 69 runs, slugged 28 doubles, two triples, a .333 on base percentage and a .385 slugging percentage. He was named a Post-Season All-Star and finished second in games played and fourth in RBI. He reached the playoffs for the first time in his career.
In 2014 Adams had one of his best overall seasons when he spent the entire season at Double-A Frisco and hit .278 with 14 home runs and 61 RBI in 125 games. In 482 at bats he scored 71 runs, crushed 36 doubles, two triples, had a .334 on base percentage and a .448 slugging percentage. He was once again selected as a Post-Season All-Star and finished first in the league in slugging percentage, second in extra base hits (52), doubles and total bases (216), third in hits (134) and runs, fourth in RBI and seventh in average. His team once again made the playoffs.
This is the second Player of the Week Award for the Saints with catcher Tony Caldwell earning the honor from June 13-19.
