Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

TROY, N.Y.-On Sunday night, the Tri-City ValleyCats will host a "Diamond Dig" presented by Northeastern Fine Jewelry at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Throughout the season, one fan at each home game qualified to dig into the infield to unearth a half-carat diamond courtesy of Northeastern Fin Jewelry.

Following the ValleyCats games against the Vermont Lake Monsters on Sunday, fans will be invited onto the field to search for diamond hidden beneath the infield. Each home game throughout the 2008 season, a paw print was stamped in a ValleyCats Game Magazine. The fan who purchased the magazine was automatically entered to take part in the diamond dig and won a $25 gift card to Northeastern Fine Jewelry. The participant who finds the diamond will be declared the "Diamond Dig" winner and will go home with the diamond.

"Joseph L. Bruno Stadium and the Tri-City ValleyCats are among the Capital Region's crowned jewels in sports and family entertainment," said Ray Bleser, owner and founder of Northeastern Fine Jewelry. "This diamond giveaway is our way of adding some additional sparkle to the summer season while inviting fans to experience the excitement and thrill of America's favorite pastime."
