Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
Making his second rehab start for the Williamsport Crosscutters, Phillies 2006 top draft pick, Kyle Drabek, took the loss as the Cutters fell 5-1 to the Auburn Doubledays at Historic Bowman Field Tuesday night.
Drabek, who is making his way back from Tommy John surgery, lasted six innings giving up two runs on five hits with two strikeouts. Reliever Jordan Ellis allowed the other three runs in his three innings of work.
The Cutters offense just could not figure out Auburn starter Josh Wells, as he pitched seven scoreless innings. The Cutters picked up their lone run on a Troy Hanzawa sacrifice fly in the ninth.
With the loss, the Crosscutters (32-31) are now eight and ½ games out of first place with 12 games remaining. Williamsport hosts the Doubledays (32-32) Wednesday night. The game can be heard on ESPN 1050AM and 104.1FM and at www.crosscutters.com.
