Cyclones Sweep Series with 7-2 Victory Over Tri-City

TROY, N.Y.-The Tri-City ValleyCats were defeated by the Brooklyn Cyclones 7-2 on Tuesday night at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, sweeping the three game series. Cyclones' pitchers Scott Shaw and James Fuller combined to allow just two runs while striking out eleven.

Centerfielder J.B. Shuck led the ValleyCats offense with two hits and one run scored. First baseman Phil Disher added two hits and one run batted in. On the mound, pitcher Eduin Ciriaco provided a bright spot for Tri-City, tossing three innings without allowing a hit or a run and walking just one Brooklyn hitter. Shaw picked up his sixth win for the Cyclones, pitching six innings and striking out seven batters. Centerfielder Sean Ratliff led the Cyclones with three runs batted in, including his sixth home run in the fourth inning.

The ValleyCats will hit the road for a three game series at Staten Island on Wednesday night. Tri-City will return home on Saturday to face the Vermont Lake Monsters at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Joseph L.
