
Diamond and Morrison Power Stingrays Past Road Warriors 2-0

North Charleston, S.C. - Forward Joe Diamond scored a goal and an assist and goaltender Adam Morrison picked up his first professional shutout to help South Carolina Stingrays (4-7-0-3) take down the Greenville Road Warriors (8-5-0-0) 2-0 on Crews Subaru Family Day Sunday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Diamond broke the scoreless tie at 14:52 of the second period catching the Road Warriors in a line change and slipping a shot past the blocker of goaltender Jeff Malcolm (L, 27 saves on 29 shots) on the breakaway. Defenseman Garrett Haar found Diamond along the left-wing boards and Morrison (W, 25 saves on 25 shots) earned the second assist.
Forward Derek DeBlois made it 2-0 on the power play 2:17 into the third period tipping a shot under Malcolm off the left post. Diamond and forward Gabriel Levesque registered the assists. Morrison preserved the shutout making several key saves in the final moments including a late 6-on-4 attack. The Stingrays finished the game 1-for-4 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 0-for-3.
The Stingrays continue their five-game homestand on Saturday, November 22 against the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. on the 5th Annual Hockey Heroes for Epilepsy Night at the North Charleston Coliseum!
