El Paso Diablos News Release

El Paso, TX- In a pivotal game two that could determine the series winner, the Diablos came up short losing a closely contested game against the Grand Prairie AirHogs 3-2.

The first half of the game was dominated by pitching, with the score after four innings 1-0 in favor of the Diablos. Starting pitcher Reyes Dorado was solid going 6.0 innings only giving up two runs on seven hits, with two strikeouts.

The AirHogs took a slight 3-1 lead heading into the eighth inning after the Diablos failed to score any runs in the seventh inning despite having the bases loaded, but the Diablos came back to score one run to cut the AirHogs lead to 3-2, before heading into the ninth inning. Sadly the Diablos couldn't produce any runs in the ninth inning as they went three up three down.

Despite tonight's loss the Diablos relief pitching showed great consistency, in relief for starting pitcher Reyes Dorado, as they only gave up one run, in three innings.

The Diablos are now 23-48 this season with one more game against the Grand Prairie AirHogs; tomorrow night's game will determine the winner of the three game series. The game starts at 6:05, here at Cohen Stadium!
