Albany Devils News Release

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The Albany Devils rebounded in the final minutes to produce a 6-4 victory at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Tuesday night. After relinquishing a two-goal lead late, the Devils found the game-winner off the stick of Chad Wiseman with 1:33 remaining. Stephen Gionta added an empty netter with 24 ticks left, helping Albany improve to 18-23-0-3. The loss moves Bridgeport to 19-21-3-3.

Back-to-back goals by Sound Tigers' Tomas Marcinko (13:52) and Jesse Joensuu (16:34) made it 4-4 with 3:26 left. Then less than two minutes later, Wiseman deflected home a shot from Rob Davison.

Despite the late-game dramatics, the line of Matt Anderson, Jacob Josefson and Adam Henrique accounted for Albany's first four goals. Anderson had a goal and two assists, while Josefson had a pair of goals and an assist. Henrique also had a multi-point evening with a goal and an assist.

Mike McKenna earned the victory, stopping 28 of 32 shots.

To start, Albany trailed by two in the first period thanks to a pair of goals by Justin DiBenedetto. The first came at 10:26 and the second was at 18:14 while on the power play.

Before the first period concluded, Anderson netted his team-high tying 16th goal of the season with Dan Kelly and Josefson assisting with 35 seconds remaining in the period.

Anderson setup Albany's next two goals. He assisted on Henrique's power-play goal at 6:39 and Josefson's marker at 13:35. Both goals came in the second frame.

Bridgeport went to work on a power play early in the third, but Josefson flipped the rink and scored at 6:25 for the Devils' ninth shorthanded goal of the season. They now rank third in the AHL in that category.

Marcinko and Joensuu's goals followed, opening the door for Wiseman's heroics.

Wiseman and Gionta joined the three-headed attack of Anderson-Henrique-Josefson with multiple points. Wiseman and Gionta both had a goal and an assist. Both players had a hand in each others tallies.

The Devils return to the Times Union Center on Friday, Jan. 28 with a 7 p.m. contest against first-place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for Dollar Dawg and Soda Night.
