Devils Sign Goalie Mike Brown

Trenton, NJ - The Trenton Devils have signed goaltender Mike Brown. In a separate transaction, Trenton has traded defenseman Gord Burnett to the Victoria Salmon Kings in exchange for future considerations. The announcements were made by Albany and Trenton General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

Brown, 25, joins the Devils organization in his sixth year of professional hockey, having most recently appeared for the Mississippi Surge (SPHL) where he was 5-2 with a 2.86 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. The Baldwinsville, NY native also has pro stints with Providence (AHL), Dayton (ECHL), South Carolina (ECHL), Long Beach (ECHL), Johnstown (ECHL), Alaska (ECHL), Amarillo (CHL), and Schwenningen (Germany). In 86 career ECHL appearances, Brown is 29-44-6, including one shutout. In 12 AHL games, he has a 6-2 record. Playing four seasons of junior hockey in the OHL, Brown had his best year in 2004-05 with the Owen Sound Attack when he won 17 games with a 2.49 goals-against average. The 5-11, 215-lb. goaltender was born March 4, 1985.

Trenton takes on the Florida Everblades in Estero, FL Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. and returns home for games Saturday vs. Alaska at 7 p.m. and Sunday vs. Cincinnati at 4 p.m.
