Alaska's Goldie Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Wes Goldie of the Alaska Aces is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 15-21.
Goldie had back-to-back three-point games as the Aces swept a pair of games at Utah to move into first place in the Mountain Division with a 9-4-1 record for 19 points.
Goldie opened the week with three assists in a 5-4 overtime win on Friday and then had two goals and an assist in the Aces' 5-0 win on Saturday.
The 31 year old leads the Aces with eight goals and 17 points while ranking second on the team with nine assists and a +8.
A native of London, Ontario, Goldie has scored 478 points (297g-181a) in 569 games with Pee Dee, Victoria and Alaska. With three more goals he will become just the seventh player in ECHL history to score 300 goals. He is tied for second in league history with four seasons of at least 40 goals, and is one of just three players in ECHL history to have four consecutive seasons of at least 40 goals.
On behalf of Wes Goldie, a case of pucks will be donated to an Alaska youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 23,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
