Devils' Frazee Named to AHL All-Star Team

LOWELL, Mass. - The American Hockey League announced today that Lowell Devils goalie Jeff Frazee has been named to the PlanetUSA team for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic, presented by Charter Communications, to be played January 25 & 26 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA.

Frazee has compiled a 10-6-2 record with a 2.31 goals against average and is the league leader with a .932 save percentage. Loaned to Lowell by New Jersey on November 3, Frazee opened his AHL season by going 6-1-1 and setting a club record with six consecutive wins. The 21-year old rookie out of Edina, MN began 2008-09 with New Jersey's ECHL affiliate, the Trenton Devils, registering a 2-2-0 record.

A second round pick (38th overall) of the New Jersey Devils in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Frazee played three seasons of collegiate hockey at the University of Minnesota. With the Golden Gophers he went 36-26 with a 2.53 GAA, a .909 save percentage and four shutouts.

The 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League competing in the 2009 AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, January 25 (4:00 p.m. ET), and the 2009 AHL All-Star Game on Monday, January 26 (7:00 p.m. ET). The event will be televised nationally in the United States and Canada.

Of the 455 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 94 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Brad Boyes, Dan Boyle, Brian Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Rick DiPietro, Jiri Hudler, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Zach Parise, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal and Tomas Vokoun.
