Detroit Reassigns Coreau to Griffins

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Detroit Red Wings on Sunday reassigned goaltender Jared Coreau from the ECHL's Toledo Walleye to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

A native of Perth, Ontario, Coreau has garnered a 2.73 goals against average in five games with Toledo this season, alongside a 4-1-0 record and a 0.899 save percentage. During his 2013-14 campaign, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound goaltender registered a 4.03 GAA in 20 games with the Walleye and a 4.39 GAA in five games with the Griffins.

Prior to being signed to a three-year entry-level contract by Detroit in 2013, Coreau spent three seasons with Northern Michigan University, where he produced a 2.72 GAA and a 32-31-8 record in 76 games as a Wildcat.

The Griffins will spar in a home-and-home against the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena and on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena.
