Delmarva Takes Series Opener over Legends, 3-0

Behind the pitching of starter Nathan Moreau and three relievers, the Delmarva Shorebirds shut out the Lexington Legends 3-0 in the opener of a four-game series in Salisbury, Maryland.

Delmarva scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. With two outs and nobody on base, Garabez Rosa singled and went to third on a double by Luis Bernardo. T.J. Baxter followed with a two-run single, and Baxter came around to score on a double by Ty Kelly.

Moreau (2-2) worked the first six innings and got the win. He allowed four hits, walked one and struck out three.

Lexington starter Jose Cisnero (3-4) was the losing pitcher, despite striking out nine batters in four innings. He allowed six hits and walked three.

The series continues Friday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
