Ramirez to DL, Milo Added to Roster

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Wednesday that Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Jose A. Ramirez has been placed on the DL, and outfielder Justin Milo has been added to the RiverDogs roster from extended spring training.

Ramirez, a Yaguate, Dominican Republic native, started 13 games for the RiverDogs this season, posting a 2-4 record with a 3.44 ERA, giving up 61 hits, 27 earned runs with 23 walks and 65 strikeouts in a total of 70.2 innings on the mound. The 20-year-old hurler was rated as the No. 20 prospect in the Yankees organization prior to the 2010 season by Baseball America.

Milo, a 37th round pick by the Yankees in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, was placed on the disabled list with an upper-body injury on June 2. The former University of Vermont standout played in 12 games with the RiverDogs, batting .244 with seven runs, two RBI and two stolen bases.
