Defenders/Sea Dogs Suspended

July 24, 2008 - Eastern League (EL1)
Connecticut Defenders News Release

PORTLAND, ME- The Defenders and Portland Sea Dogs couldn't finish up their final two games of the four game series due to poor field conditions at Hadlock Field.

Rain saturated the field overnight and earlier this morning causing a "swamp" like condition in the outfield. Last night's rain suspended game that was supposed to resume today will be played at Dodd Stadium on Thursday, August 7th as part of a double header. No time has been determined just yet. The final game of this series will be rescheduled later in that series in conjunction with the Eastern League and the Defenders.

The Defenders head back home to Dodd Stadium to begin a weekend series vs. the New Britain Rock Cats on Friday, July 25th. For more information or to purchase tickets to the series, please call the Defenders at (860)-87-7962.
