Notes: The Gems return to action after the 2012 CHL All Star break refreshed and ready to travel to Moline, Illinois for a two game road series with the Quad City Mallards. Quad City skates into the matchup with a 19-12-1 record overall, winning nine of their 16 home games this season, including their last turn hosting the Gems back on December 30 in a 6-1 rout.

Notes: Both the Gems and Mallards conclude their two game series with a Saturday night battle in Quad City. Dayton will bus home following the conclusion of the game to prepare for a Sunday matinee with the IceMen.

Notes: The Gems conclude their weekend with an afternoon meeting with the Evansville IceMen on Cassano's Italian Ice at Hara Arena. There will be a free postgame skate, while the first 1,000 fans will receive a limited edition Brett Lutes poster starting at 3pm.

WEEKLY NOTES
Scorin' Surma - Dayton's Damian Surma continues to the lead the Gems in goals scored with 18, and is tied for second in the CHL for goals, just four behind league leader Brandon Marino of the Quad City Mallards.
Powerplay Master - Brandon Naurato remains tied for second in the CHL in powerplay goals with 8 in his 32 games played.
Komet Klobberer -Gems netminder Larry Sterling made a season high 45 saves between the pipes to propel his club to the victory over the Komets on Friday night. His 42 saves on Saturday night give him a combined 87 saves last weekend in his two appearances against the Komets.
Not A Mirage - Gems forward Brett Lutes heads to the desert this week as a member of the CHL All Star Team who will be taking on the CHL Arizona Sundogs in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The Game is set for 8pm on Wednesday, and is available on CHL TV and will be shown at Buffalo Wild Wings in Englewood.
New Guys - The Gems are expecting a pair of newly acquired players to arrive this week from their prior teams. Robin Richards and David Nimmo are expected to be in the lineup when action resumes this weekend.
