Notes
All-Star Break - The Mavericks have hit the All-Star break and sit in fifth place in the Turner Conference with 35 points and a 16-13-3 record. Missouri is just two points below the Rapid City Rush and four points below Evansville and Quad City who are tied for second place in the conference. Missouri has one more game before they are officially at the half way point of their season.
All-Star - Mavericks' forward Andrew Courtney will represent the Mavericks at the 2012 CHL All-Star Game this Wednesday, January 11 in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Courtney comes to the break with 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists in 29 games. The second-year Maverick is headed to his first All-Star Game in which the CHL All-Stars will take on the host Arizona Sundogs.
4 out of 5 - Missouri has won four of their past five games and had their four-game win streak snapped by Quad City on Sunday. The streak was the second longest win streak of the season only shorter than the six-game win streak the Mavericks had to start the season. In the four wins, the Mavericks outscored their opponents 15-7 and the team recorded the first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over Bloomington on December 30.
Newcomers - Patrick Schafer has three assists in his first three games with the Mavericks since being traded to Missouri on January 1. Tristin Llewellyn, who was acquired in a trade with the Fort Wayne Komets, has one assist in three games. Finally, goaltender Levente Szuper won his first game as a Maverick and stopped 40 shots in a 6-3 win over Quad City on Saturday night.
"3-in-3's" - The Mavericks continue their stretch of three games in three nights this week when they play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Missouri will travel in between each game this weekend. This is the third straight week in which the Mavericks will have played a "3-in-3" and the team will follow that up with a game on Tuesday, January 17 in Tulsa. In total, the Mavericks will have 10 3-in-3's this season accounting for nearly half of their games played.
Three or less - One of the Mavericks' keys to victory this season has been holding their opponent to three goals or less. Missouri is 14-0-2 for a .938 win percentage when the team allows three or fewer goals.
Tickets for all regular season games are on sale via Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 or www.Ticketmaster.com. Call the Mavericks' office at (816) 252-7825 for more information or visit www.MissouriMavericks.com.
