EVANSVILLE, IN.--- Riding the crest of a New Year 2012 4-game undefeated streak at 4(3-0-1), the tied for second place Turner Conference Evansville IceMen are reaping some significant benefits for their exemplary inception in the new calendar year.

On this date, the Central Hockey League, in concert with the IceMen organization, has announced that All-Star center TODD ROBINSON has been heralded OAKLEY / CHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the week of January 2nd through January 8th.

ROBINSON, 33, is enjoying yet another banner campaign in this his 13th overall pro season and his first under the employ of the second year AA/CHL Evansville franchise. The four-time minor pro scoring kingpin was the supreme catalyst in his club's stellar opening week 2012 as the IceMen accrued 7 of a possible 8-points to surge into a share of second place in the CHL Turner Conference standings with Quad City with Evansville holding 2-games in hand on the Mallards.

"T.Rob's" latest prolific, terrific week was actually launched lustrously against the aforementioned Quad Citians last Tuesday night when he engineered 1-goal, 1-assist with his strike on a power play to spur his squad to a 5-2 victory verdict over the Mallards. The Robinsonian savvy, moxie and guile were truly evident and prevalent in the IceMen 3-games in 3-nights series opposing Bloomington as the 3-time minor pro league MVP was the artisan of 8-points on 1-goal, 7-assists and impressive +5 rating. In Friday night's 6-2 dismissal of the home standing Blaze, the Trail, BC native earned the game's #3 Star, authoring his third 4-assists' masterpiece of the season and scintillating +3 rating. After generating another key, clutch helper in the Saturday night 4-3 OTSO affair in the Illinois city, the pre-eminent prince of points playmaking pivot seemed to save his best for last in the final game of the weekend trifecta. This time, on home ice Sunday night, he maestroed 3-more points including an electrifying PPG and strong +2 rating in attaining the game's #1 Star in the IceMen rather emphatic 4-1 domination of the Bloomington club.

For the week, "Tape-to-Tape Todd" registered a prolific 10-points in 4-games on 2-goals, 8-assists with a +5 rating. In the process, the IceMen's premiere point producer pushed his personal point-scoring streak to 8-games, averaging 2-points per game with 8(3-13-16). For the season, he ranks second in the circuit in scoring with 10-goals, a league-high 37-assists, 47-points. His 19-PPA also pace the CHL as Robinson has crept within one point of Rapid City's Jess Schultz for the CHL scoring leadership.

Robinson and teammate, defenseman Matt Gens are representing Evansville in the CHL's annual All-Star Game this Wednesday at Arizona.

This marks the second time thus far this season that Robinson has been acclaimed Oakley/CHL Player of the Week. He was the recipient of the same league accolades back in the CHL's second week of the season, the week of October 31st to November 6th.

In addition, Robinson was named the CHL's #3 Star in the league's Three Stars' Selections for the month of November.
