THUNDER IN FIRST AT BREAK - Heading into the final two games before the All-Star break, Wichita traveled to Moline, Il to take on the Mallards Friday night. Quad City had an outstanding December, going 11-2-1. The Thunder jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from RG Flath and Matt Robinson. Quad City outscored Wichita in the second period and took its first lead of the game at the seven minute mark of the third when Jeremy Boyer scored off a face-off to make it 4-3. Wichita got a late goal from Travis Wight to tie the game at four and for the second straight game between the two teams at the I Wireless Center, regulation time was not enough. The Mallards scored on a power-play in overtime with 46 seconds remaining and handed Wichita its first loss in OT this season, 5-4. The following night, Wichita returned to INTRUST Bank Arena and blitzed the Tulsa Oilers with five third-period goals en route to a 6-2 win. Thomas Beauregard had two goals, Matt Robinson scored his third in two games and Aaron Davis had a Gordie Howe hat trick as Wichita won for the 15th time on home ice. With Allen's loss on Sunday, Wichita remains in first place in the Berry Conference with 44 points at the break.

Thomas Beauregard and Matt Summers are both riding six-game point streaks while Aaron Davis and RG Flath extended theirs to three.
