Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Bowling Green Hot Rods (affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) in the last game of a season-opening four-game set. The two clubs opened the season with two games in Dayton. Season Series: Dayton 2, Bowling Green 1.
Last Game: Saturday: Dayton 6, Bowling Green 0. Dragons starting pitcher Jhon De Jesus and relievers Eduardo Salazar and Eddy Demurias combined on a five-hit shutout as the Dragons picked up their second straight win. De Jesus, in his first game since 2017 due to a shoulder injury, worked five innings for the win, allowing only one runner as far as second base. Mariel Bautista had two hits including a home run for Dayton. Juan Martinez had two hits and two RBI. Bren Spillane and Jay Schuyler also added two hits.
Team Notes
Dragons relievers have allowed just two earned runs in 15 innings on the year, posting an ERA of 1.20.
The Dragons notched a shutout win on the road on Saturday. In 2018, they had just two shutouts on the road.
The Dragons have collected at least 10 hits and scored at least six runs in back-to-back games.
