TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers rode a strong start from starter Danny Hultzen in a 4-2 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at Cheney Stadium on Friday night.

Hultzen collected his third win his fourth start this season after holding the Grizzlies to two runs on three hits over 6.0 innings. The left-hander struck out five Fresno batters and issued two walks in the outing.

Alex Liddi erased a 1-0 Grizzlies lead with a one-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning - the infielder's fifth this season.

Eric Thames added solo home run with two outs in the third. The outfielder has now homered in three of his last four games and is currently the only player in the Pacific Coast League to reach safely in each of his team's first 16 games this season.

In his Triple-A debut, infielder Stefon Romero tripled with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. Romero was transferred to the Rainiers from Class-A Advanced High Desert last Wednesday.

Right-handed relievers Jhonny Nunez (2.0 IP) and Logan Bawcom (1.0 IP) combined to strike out three over 3.0 innings of work out of the bullpen. Bawcom picked up his first career Triple-A save after turning in a scoreless inning in the ninth.

The Rainiers (8-8) hit the road for an eight-game, nine-day road trip that begins with a four-game series at the Salt Lake Bees. Right-hander Andrew Carraway (1-1, 4.96) is scheduled to start for the Rainiers in the opener, set for 5:35 p.m. tomorrow, April 20. Right-hander Barry Enright is set to start for Salt Lake.
