
Zephyrs' Rally Falls Short in Texas

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Zephyrs rallied to score five ninth inning runs but it was not enough as the Express grab game one of the series 8-7 at the Dell Diamond.
Round Rock scored four first inning runs to jump out to a quick lead. Robinson Chirinos drilled a three run home run. The Express added to the lead in the fourth with an Aaron Cunningham RBI single. Yangervis Solarte had three hits and a home run for Round Rock.
The Z's had many opportunities as the Zephyrs left a season high 15 men on base and out hit the Express 13-9.
The Express led 8-2 heading into the ninth inning and New Orleans would send ten batters to the plate, scoring five runs. The Z's had a pair or runners on when Ben Lasater popped up to end the rally.
Kevin Mattison led the Z's with three hits and four RBI. Josh Lindblom pitched five innings and allowed one run on four hits and earned his second win over the Zephyrs this season. Brad Hand lost for the first time, allowing six runs in four and two thirds innings.
