Tucson Padres News Release
Daniel Robertson's four runs and Jonathan Galvez's three RBIs paced the Tucson Padres to a 12-4 win over the Salt Lake Bees Friday at Kino Stadium. With the win the Padres took three out of four from the Bees, who came into the series with the Pacific Coast League's best record. The Padres have won a season-high three games in a row.
Tucson jumped ahead 2-0 in the first inning on Galvez's RBI single and an RBI groundout from Brandon Allen. The Padres added two more in the third and a sacrifice fly from Galvez in the fifth extended their lead to 5-2. The Bees' two runs came in the fourth, highlighted by Efren Navarro's solo home run over the visiting bullpen.
The Padres struck for four runs in the sixth on two Salt Lake errors and two hits, including a two-run double from Anthony Contreras. Travis Buck launched a three-run home run to right in the eighth to put Tucson ahead by nine runs.
Robbie Erlin won his second game of the season after allowing two runs in five innings of work. Orangel Arenas fell to 1-2 on the year after surrendering four hits, three walks and two earned runs.
