Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Buffalo Bisons today announced the addition of pitcher Danny Graves and infielder Ramon Vazquez to the team's roster. The Herd did not lose any players as it had two roster spots open.

Both players join the team from Cleveland. Graves was designated for assignment by the Indians on May 12 while Vazquez was optioned by the Tribe on Wednesday when the team purchased the contract of infielder, Lou Merloni.

Graves, 32, appeared in 13 games in relief for Cleveland this year, going 2-1 with a 5.79ERA (14.0IP, 18H, 9ER, 3K). The reliever spent parts of three seasons with the Bisons, 1995-1997, and was 6-6 with a 2.45ERA and 21 saves in 65 games with Buffalo. In 1996, he posted 19 saves (T5th most in a single season in the Bisons Modern Era) and a 1.48ERA in 43 games. His 21 total Bisons saves rank him T7th on the Modern Era charts.

Graves also has posted 182 saves in his Major League career. He was a National League All-Star selection in 2000 and 2004 with Cincinnati and his 182 saves with the Reds are a franchise record.

Vazquez, 29, hit .179 (5-28) with four RBI and three runs scored in 16 games for the Indians in 2006. The infielder was acquired by the Indians in a trade with the Boston Red Sox on July 7, 2005. He played 21 games with the Bisons following the deal and hit .214 (18-84) with three doubles, four RBI and 13 runs scored.
