Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that overage defenseman Dalton Prout has been returned to the Barrie Colts from the Columbus Blue Jackets of the NHL.
Prout was drafted by the Blue Jackets in the 6th round, 154th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
After playing in one pre-season game for Columbus, Prout was eventually put down to their AHL affiliate, where he played two exhibition games for the Springfield Falcons.

"Well it's a great honour to be named captain," said Prout. "It's something that I will take a lot of pride in, and I'm really excited to get going."
Prout takes over as captain for Stefan Della Rovere, who served as team captain for two seasons.
The 6'3" native of Lasalle, Ontario is expected to be in the lineup when Barrie travels to Kitchener Friday night.
