Texas Stars News Release

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has recalled defenseman Cameron Gaunce from Texas. Dallas also placed forward Vernon Fiddler on injured reserve, retroactive to the upper-body injury he suffered on Dec. 7 vs. Philadelphia.

Gaunce, 23, has skated in 28 games for Texas this season, earning seven points (1-67) and 25 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound defenseman from Markham, Ont., has played 11 career NHL games, all with the Colorado Avalanche, collecting one goal and 16 penalty minutes. Originally selected by Colorado in the second-round (50th overall) in the 2008 NHL Draft, Gaunce was acquired by Dallas via trade from Colorado in exchange for forward Tomas Vincour on April 2, 2013.

Fiddler, 33, has eight points in 28 games for Dallas this season (2-68). Now in his third campaign with the Stars, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound forward has skated in 156 games for the club, collecting 46 points (14-3246) and 120 penalty minutes. The Edmonton, Alta., native was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 1, 2011.

The Dallas Stars are in action tonight as they host the Colorado Avalanche for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop at American Airlines Center.

The Texas Stars will host the San Antonio Rampage on Wednesday, December 18th at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center, carrying a five-game winning streak and six-game home point streak (5-0-0-1) into the contest. Wednesday's game is the 3rd Annual H-E-B Food Drive Night and another Winning Wednesday. Pro-rated full and partial 2013-14 Texas Stars Season Tickets are on sale now.
