Texas Stars News Release
CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has recalled goaltender Jack Campbell under emergency conditions. Dallas goaltender Kari Lehtonen suffered a lower body injury in Friday's game against Winnipeg and is currently listed as day-to-day. Texas also announced that the club has recalled goaltender Josh Robinson from the Idaho Steelheads, their ECHL affiliate.
Campbell, 21, has played one game for Texas this season, stopping 18-of-19 shots en route to his first win of the year during a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves on October 5th at Cedar Park Center. The Port Huron, Michigan native is entering his second full professional season. During the 2012-13 campaign, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound goaltender earned a 19-13-3 record with a 2.65 goals against average (GAA) and a .905 save percentage (SV%) in 40 games for Texas. Campbell was Dallas' first-round selection (11th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft.
Robinson, 23, re-signed for his second year with Texas on July 12, 2013, after spending his first professional season with the Steelheads. The Frankenmuth, Michigan native played in 39 games for Idaho during the 2012-13 season, posting a 27-8-1-3 record, with a 2.57 goals-against average (GAA), a 0.925 save percentage (SV%) and five shutouts. Robinson attended training camps in Dallas and Texas and combined with fellow Idaho goalie Pat Nagle for a 30-save shutout in a 3-0 victory over the San Antonio Rampage during Texas' September 29th pre-season game at Cedar Park Center. Robinson started the game and stopped all nine shots he faced in his first career game action in a Stars' uniform.
Dallas will faceoff tonight against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center at 7:00 p.m. (TV: TXA-21; Radio: 1310 The Ticket).
After a rare week off, the Stars will travel to Oklahoma City on Tuesday, October 15th to face the Barons for a 7:00 p.m. face off at the Cox Convention Center. Texas will return to Cedar Park Center Saturday, October 19th as they host the San Antonio Rampage at 7:00 p.m. for another Coca-Cola Family Four Pack Night, a Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night and a Stars hockey puck giveaway presented by Austin Telco Federal Credit Union.
