Dallas Stars Reassign Chris Conner to Rivermen

, Tex. (February 7, 2009) - The Dallas Stars and the Peoria Rivermen announced today that the club has assigned right wing Chris Conner back to the Rivermen.

Conner, 25, has appeared in 19 games with the Stars this season and has posted a career-high seven points (one goal and six assists). His previous NHL season high was six points (two goals, five assists) in 22 games with the Stars last season.

The native of Westland, Mich., has appeared in 52 career NHL games, all with the Stars, notching five goals and 10 assists for 15 points with 18 penalty minutes. Conner made his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game Three of the Western Conference Finals vs. Detroit last spring.

The 5-8, 180-pound right wing has previously appeared in 25 games with Peoria this season, posting 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points. Despite his time away from the Rivermen, he remains ranked tied for second on the club in goals and tied for fourth in points.

Conner had a stellar career at Michigan Tech University, leaving as the school's all-time leader in shorthanded goals (15) and ranking 19th among goal-scorers in MTU history with 69 tallies. He was named to the 2004 WCHA Second All-Star Team. He was signed as a free agent by Dallas on July 13, 2006.
