Manny Legace Assigned to Peoria

ST. LOUIS (February 7, 2009) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned goaltender Manny Legace to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

In a separate move, the Blues have recalled defenseman Steve Wagner.

Legace, 36, has played in 29 games with the Blues this season, posting a 13-9-2 record, a 3.18 goals against average along with a .885 save percentage. He will report to Peoria on Monday and is expected to make his Rivermen debut at Carver Arena on Wednesday against the Rockford IceHogs.

The Toronto, Ontario native was originally drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the eighth round, 188th overall in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.

Wagner, 24, has skated in 17 games for the Blues this season, collecting two points (one goal, one assist) along with 18 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 191-pound defenseman has played in 41 National Hockey League games, all with St. Louis, collecting 10 points (three goals, seven assists). This season with Peoria, Wagner has played in 29 games, notching 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) and 27 penalty minutes.

The Grand Rapids, Minnesota native was signed by the Blues as an undrafted free agent on March 20, 2007.
