D.J. Jelitto Runner-Up for ECHL Player of the Month

Las Vegas, Nevada - Utah Grizzlies forward and West Valley City native D.J. Jelitto finished as a runner-up for ECHL Player of the Month in January.

In January, Jelitto had seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 15 games and tallied a plus-10 as the Grizzlies logged a 9-2-2-2 record.

The 29-year-old forward scored in 10 of 15 games and recorded four multiple-point contests.

As the Grizzlies moved up the Western Conference standings in January, Aaron Dell (January 20-26) and Igor Bobov (January 27-February 1) were both named the league's Goaltender of the Week, while Dell was ultimately named the league's Goaltender of the Month for the first 31 days of 2014.

Jelitto's line mates Michael Pelech and Mathieu Aubin also had stellar months of January; with Pelech having three goals and 12 assists for 15 points in 15 games and a plus-six. Aubin had six goals and six assists for 12 points in ten games and a plus-five. The trio combined for 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points in 15 January games.

After six seasons away, the Utah native returned to the Grizzlies in November where he started his pro career in his home state from 2005-2007.

Utah continues their nine-game road stretch Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas at 8 p.m. and Sunday in Ontario at 4 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home Monday, February 17 for a 1:35 p.m. start for Maverik Monday on President's Day. Fans can get six tickets for $30 with a receipt from Maverik.

Wednesday, February 19 is the next Wild $2 Wednesday with $2 hot dogs, $2 fries, $2 soft drinks, $2 draft beers and $5 student tickets against Idaho at 7 p.m.

Friday, February 28 is our eighth annual Pink in the Rink to support breast cancer awareness. The Grizzlies chocolates will be wearing pink specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game.
