Eagles Sweep Series against Wranglers with 4-1 Victory

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Colorado Eagles (24-12-5-2) swept the two-game series with a 4-1 win against the Las Vegas Wranglers (11-27-3-1) on Wednesday night at the Orleans Arena.

Wranglers forward Adam Hughesman started the scoring by beating Eagles netminder Adam Brown to give Las Vegas the 1-0 lead just 4:34 into the first period. Eagles forward Trent Daavettila would answer with a back-door goal off of a pass from line-mate Luke Fulghum to tie the game at 1-1 with :50 left in the first.

Just over three minutes into the second frame Colorado forward Brock Nixon found the back of the net on a cross-slot pass from forward Jesse Mychan to put the Eagles in the lead, 2-1. Less than forty seconds later Eagles forward Alex Hudson beat Las Vegas goalie Travis Fullerton from between the circles and pumped Colorado's lead, 3-1.

With less than five minutes left in the contest forward Luke Fulghum netted the final puck for the Eagles to secure the 4-1 victory over the Wranglers. The Eagles have now won three of their first four games of a season-long six-game road trip that continues Friday night against the Idaho Steelheads in Boise.
