
D-Fenders Outlast Legends

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Texas Legends finished off a five-game road streak with a 117-127 loss to the Los Angeles D-Fenders Saturday night.
Josh Magette was the first to make the scoreboard, grabbing the initial lead for Los Angeles. The Legends took the lead three minutes in, but the home team responded immediately and controlled the remainder of the game. Chris Douglas-Roberts put up 11 first-quarter points, but the D-Fenders continued to push ahead building an 11-point gap at the buzzer. Texas went on a 14-4 streak midway through the second to make it a one-point game, but Los Angeles regained a 16-point advantage at the half.
The D-Fenders took their largest lead of the night in the third going up by 26, but the Legends responded with 14 unanswered points and found themselves within 11 going into the fourth quarter. The two teams exchanged baskets in the final 12 minutes but the Legends were unable to overcome the double-digit deficit.
Six Legends players finished in double-digits led by Patrick Miller with 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists. Douglas-Roberts added 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals and Jamil Wilson followed with 18 points, 2 rebounds. Bobby Ray Parks Jr. added a new season-high with 13 points off the bench.
Vander Blue led the D-Fenders with a 29-point effort while Ryan Gomes followed closely nearing a triple-double with 28 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists. Jeff Ayres (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Magette (11 points, 14 assists) also added double-doubles on the night.
