
Grand Rapids Drops Back-To-Back Games to Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Grand Rapids Drive would be happy if they never see the Sioux Falls Skyforce again.
Grand Rapids has lost all five meetings with Sioux Falls after a 116-107 loss on Saturday night in front of 3,102 fans at the Sanford Pentagon. The Drive held a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Drive, the affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, falls to 18-21 after back-to-back losses to the Skyforce. Sioux Falls improves to 31-8, which is the best record in the D-League.
Devin Ebanks had a team-high 27 points and nine rebounds. Henry Sims had his 14th double-double of the season with 22 points and 12 rebounds. The 6-foot-10 center out of Georgetown is tied for fourth in the D-League in double-doubles.
Lorenzo Brown had 22 points and eight assists for the Drive. It ' s the third-straight game with at least 20 points for the veteran point guard out of North Carolina State. Dahntay Jones had 17 points, four rebounds and four assists and Gary Talton added 10 points.
Jones had a nice spin move on the baseline for a dunk to give the Drive an 89-86 lead at the end of the third quarter. Grand Rapids led after three quarters. But Sioux Falls went on a 19-8 run to begin the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Brown drained two free-throws to give Grand Rapids a 60-59 lead at halftime. It was a nice comeback for the Drive, which trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half. Ebanks had 16 points at halftime.
Ebanks hit a jumpshot with 5 minutes to go in the first quarter to give the Drive a 17-15 lead. It was their first lead in two days over Sioux Falls.
Bubu Palo had 22 points to lead Sioux Falls. Keith Benson, who played at Oakland University, had 15 points and eight rebounds.
The Drive plays Sioux Falls one more time for the final game of the regular season on April 2.
Grand Rapids continues its five-game road trip with a 7 p.m. contest at the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Wednesday. The Drive ' s next home game is on March 16 against Westchester.
