D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (February 28, 2014) - D.C. United today announced that the club will partake in a double header on June 7 as a part of Road to Brazil, a seven game event across the United States just days prior to the FIFA World Cup, and will take on the Columbus Crew following Spain vs. El Salvador. The regular season match against the Crew, which was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. EST at RFK Stadium, will now be the second leg of the double header as Spain and El Salvador will play first at FedExField, with the Black-and-Red taking the field immediately after. Times of the games will be announced at a later date.
"This will be a great day of soccer and we are excited to represent our great city on the field as we prepare for a big regular season game against the Columbus Crew," said D.C. United Chief Operating Officer Michael Williamson. "Having the World Champion in D.C., in their last match before going to Brazil, facing local favorites El Salvador will be a great experience for all involved."
For Full Season Ticket Holders this will be a double ticket event which means admissions to both games requires a Columbus Crew ticket plus a Special Event ticket. Full Season Ticket Holders will be contacted by the club shortly with more personalized information.
