Houston Dynamo Announce March to Soccer Kickoff Week Ahead of March 8 Opening Day

HOUSTON (Friday, Feb. 28, 2014) - With the Dynamo set to begin the 2014 season in just eight days, the club has announced a week of events leading up to the March 8 season opener at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The March to Soccer Kickoff Week includes the unveiling of the 2014 road uniforms, a special autograph session at the adidas Dynamo team store, the first Soccer Night Out of 2014, Fútbol Fiesta and a Dynamo happy hour on the eve of the opening of the 2014 season.

March to Soccer Kickoff Week begins on Monday, with the unveiling of the 2014 Houston Dynamo road uniform at a private event at BBVA Compass Stadium. The event, reserved for Dynamo Forever Orange Members, is sold out.

Kickoff Week continues on Tuesday with an autograph session by Dynamo players from 5-7 p.m. at the adidas Dynamo team store inside BBVA Compass Stadium (2200 Texas Ave., Houston). The autograph signing is also the public's first opportunity to purchase the official 2014 Dynamo road uniform.

Wednesday is highlighted by the first Soccer Night Out of 2014. The event will be held at Houston Sports Park (12131 Kirby Dr., Houston) from 5:30-7 p.m. The occasion will feature Houston Dash midfielder Brittany Bock and Hot 95.7 FM morning show host Sara Pepper.

Soccer Night Out is a free community soccer festival focused on Houston's suburban communities. In addition, the festival includes pick-up soccer games, music, face painting, a balloon artist and appearances by the Dynamo Girls and mascot Dynamo Diesel.

On Thursday, Fútbol Fiesta, presented by Texas Children's Health Plan will be conducted at Harbach-Ripley Neighborhood Centers (6225 Northdale St., Houston) from 5-6:30 p.m. Fútbol Fiesta will include pick-up soccer games, music, face painting and a balloon artist. Staff from Texas Children's Health Plan will be available to provide wellness, nutrition, safety, and CHIP and Medicaid information.

To conclude Kickoff Week, the Dynamo will host a happy hour party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday at Lucky's Pub (801 St. Emmanuel St., Houston), on the doorstep of BBVA Compass Stadium. The party will include the Dynamo Girls, Dynamo Diesel, drink specials and Dynamo giveaways.
