ESTERO, Florida - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones announced today that they have signed defenseman Chris Clark. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Clark, 21, is a second year defenseman, who was playing in the Eastern Pro Hockey League with Hudson Valley. With that team, Chris was the leading scorer among defensemen with eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 21 games.
The six-foot-three, 215 pounder from Philadelphia, PA spent last season with four clubs in four different leagues. All told, Clark played in 36 games and netted four goals and six assists for ten points and had 55 penalty minutes. He will be the 44th player to play for the Cyclones this season.
Clark practiced with the team this morning and is expected in the lineup for tonight's game at Florida (7:30pm on MAX FM 97.7 and 99.5).
