Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced that they will hold their annual Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday, January 3 at U.S. Bank Arena. For the fourth consecutive season, the collection of bears will benefit the Cincinnati Police Department.
Just like last season, this year's event will coincide with Throwback Night, which will feature $10 tickets, $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, Donatos Pizza, Soda and Beer. When the Cyclones score their first goal, fans will be encouraged to throw a new or gently-loved teddy bear onto the ice, which will then be collected and donated to the Cincinnati Police Department. Last year's toss helped accumulate 3,833 plush toys for the cause.
"The Cincinnati Police Department family is grateful to the Cyclones organization for once again having the Teddy Bear Toss as part of their Throwback Night festivities," said Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell. "The stuffed animals that fans toss onto the ice to celebrate the Cyclones' first goal will help our efforts in bringing comfort to young victims of crime, accidents or fires. The support of partners like the Cyclones is tremendous!"
"We couldn't be happier to continue our partnership with the Cincinnati Police Department for this event," said Cyclones General Manager Kristin Ropp. "They provide such an exceptional level of service to our community and I'm excited to again tie them in with one of our most entertaining and beneficial promotions of the year."
Last year's Teddy Bear Toss / Throwback Night set a club record for attendance, with 13,237 fans in the house at U.S. Bank Arena. With that in mind, fans are strongly encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance of game day, by calling 513.421.PUCK or visiting CyclonesHockey.com.
After an off-day today, the Cyclones will close out its three-game road trip tomorrow night as they visit the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05pm. Coverage of the game on the Cyclones Radio Network beginning at 6:45pm. Fans can also watch the action LIVE at the Coors Light Viewing Party, which takes place for all road games at Game Time Sports Bar and Grill in Cheviot!
The Cyclones will be back on the ice at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday, December 17 when they host the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:30pm! Fans 21+ can enjoy $1 beers as we host our first-ever Santa-Con! Everyone is encouraged to dress as Santa, Mrs. Claus, or an elf! Call 513.421.PUCK to secure your seats and for more details.
