Brampton Beast News Release
TULSA, OK - When it seemed like the Beast had once again came out of the gates flying, scoring the game's opening goal just 2:16 into the opening period compliments of Stephon Thorne, the wheels once again fell off the scoring train. New signing, Andy Bathgate assisted the goal alongside Dustin Ekelman on his very first shift as a Beast. Despite firing 34 shots on net, the Beast were unable to record another goal from that point on and fell to the Tulsa Oilers by a final score of 4-1.
While the score may not show it, the Beast iced a solid effort at the BOK Center. Oiler's back-up goaltender, Brady Hjelle, was exceptional, standing on his head at times to keep the Oilers ahead throughout the duration of the game. With goals from Tom Mele, Kyle Fisher, Jeff Jubinville and Kyle O'Kane respectively, the high-octane Oilers would prove to have just enough to beat the Beast.
Entering the third period down 3-1, Brampton left nothing on the table. The team came out firing everything on net, earning three quality scoring chances within the first minute of play. The first chance, coming off the stick of team point's leader, Chad Painchaud, hit the post as Hjelle appeared to be down and out. The Beast would fire 13 shots on net total in the third and end up outshooting Tulsa by a slim 34-33 margin.
The Beast are back in action tomorrow night as the team continues their road trip, taking on the Allen Americans. Fans can tune into live with play-by-play action at www.4cornersradio.ca o5A-cnze34N3JQ]. Puck drop is slated - for 8:05 pm EST.
