Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
The Cyclones dropped a 4-3 decision to the Peoria Rivermen on Opening Night at U.S. Bank Arena. The Clones held a 3-2 lead with 1:53 left in the third before Peoria's Alex Kim and Brendan Brooks broke the hearts of the 4,000-plus in attendance.
Mark Concannon scored the first Cyclones goal of the season and the first goal of his professional career at the 13:12 mark of the first period. Peoria's Scott Crawford evened the game just 17 seconds later when his shot from the top of the right wing circle fooled Cyclones goaltender Randy Petruk.
In the second period, Peoria's Alex Kim and Cincinnati's Garrett Prosofsky exchanged goals to keep the game tied at two.
Jason Norrie opened third period scoring just 33 seconds into the final frame. The Clones managed to protect the 3-2 lead for more than 18 minutes before Alex Kim and Brendan Brooks 53 seconds apart to win the game for Peoria 4-3.
The Clones are back in action tomorrow night in Dayton. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. with a pre-game show on Sportsjuice.com at 6:50 p.m.
