Cyclones Loan Benson, Receive Van Guilder

CINCINNATI, Ohio -The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced several items this morning involving the club, former players and movement with American Hockey League (AHL) clubs.

Cyclones forward Hans Benson has been loaned to the Portland Pirates (AHL). It will be his second stint of the season with Portland. Benson has played in 16 games with the Cyclones and has two goals and seven assists for nine points and 50 penalty minutes.

The Cyclones also received word that forward Mark Van Guilder has been reassigned to the club from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL). This is the second time this season that Van Guilder has been with the Cyclones.

In other news, former Cyclones goaltender Cedrick Desjardins (2006-07 & 2007-08) has been named to the Canadian All-Star team at the annual AHL All-Star Game. Desjardins ranks second in the AHL with a 1.55 goals against average and an 11-4-1 record this season.

The Cyclones are on the road this week with a New Year's Eve (Thursday, Dec. 31) clash at Kalamazoo at 7:30pm. Saturday (Jan. 2), the club is at Johnstown for a 7:05pm tilt. Both games will be carried on the team's website: www.cycloneshockey.com.

Tickets for the 2009-10 Cincinnati Cyclones season are now on sale. The Cyclones Sales Department can be reached at 513-421-PUCK, extension 3. The Cyclones have selected Friday night games carried on 1530 Homer - The Sports Animal and all contests aired on their website at www.cycloneshockey.com. The next game carried on 1530 will be Friday, January 8 at 7:35pm from Wheeling.
